Gazebos and Pergolas

DPR Landscapes specializes in designing a variety of outdoor structures such as gazebos and pergolas. Adding one of these structures to your outdoor living space can provide shade or shelter from the elements, maximizing the functionality of the space.

Gazebos

Gazebos are roofed structures that can be fully enclosed or can have open walls. Gazebos are great for adding sheltered outdoor seating that can be used through out the spring, summer, and fall. 

Pergolas 

Pergolas differ from a gazebo by the function of the roof. A pergola has and open ceiling that offer shade, but not full protection from the elements. Pergolas are great for seating areas that get full sun, and for a simpler accent structure around gardens

We designed and constructed this minimalist-style pergola in Whitby. The structure is 12’x14′ and built with 8″x8″ Hemlock beams to provide a sturdy, solid frame. 

The best part about this structure is the retractable vinyl canopy by  ShadeFx. With a simple pull of a string you can go from full-sun to complete shade, which allows this lounge space functional anytime.

This is one of our personal favourite structures we’ve installed. A 14’x12′ hipped-roof gazebo finished with cedar-shake shingles and Ipe hardwood privacy walls. Fully furnished with wall-mounted and soffit lights, and a natural gas fireplace, this client was able to enjoy this space almost year round.
